Against The Odds

umbrella2

This was one of THOSE weeks for me. By one of THOSE weeks, I mean it seemed like all the odds were stacked up against me. In the moments I wanted to throw in the towel and just walk away there was someone with encouragement pushing me forward. It got me thinking, the finest gift one can give anyone is encouragement. Yet, almost no one gets the encouragement they need to grow to their full potential. If everyone received the encouragement they need to grow, the genius in most everyone would blossom and the world would produce abundance beyond the wildest dreams. We would have more than one Einstein, Edison, Schweitzer, Mother Theresa and other great minds in a century.

“A word of encouragement during a failure is worth more than an hour of praise after success” – Author Unknown

The added value of giving encouragement is that the encourager will likely receive more benefit from it than the person being encouraged.  Have you noticed how good it makes you feel when someone encourages you? Have you noticed how much better it makes you feel when you encourage someone else?  Sounds like a win-win situation doesn’t it?  Have you ever wondered why we don’t do it more often?  Now would be a great time!
