This evening I received an email from my friend @shawnwood inviting me to a challenge, a challenge to change the lives of people in third world countries.
I’m sure I don’t have to make you aware of the water crisis in third world countries, but just incase humor me for a few sentences. A water crisis of catastrophic proportions is about to explode. Fresh water is a finite resource. The amount of fresh water supply does not increase. No matter where you are on this planet water is an integral part of our lives. Yet people are going days even weeks without water or drink contaminated water.
It wasn’t till I saw this picture taken at 9:00 by @jerryminer, that I knew something had to happen. The funny thing is as Jerry took that picture he knew it would be the last time this little boy had to drink this noxious water.
And in only a matter of hours later, lives were changed with clean water as people smiled as Jerry took this photo.
So here comes the challenge:
The average American drinks 420 ounces of canned soft drinks a week.
I go to Starbucks a lot, almost 2 times a day, thats 10 times a week.
And my firends drink at least one Iced-Tea every day.
What does that cost for 5 Days?
30 cans of soda = $15.00
3 trips to Starbucks = $10.00
5 fountain drink = $8.75
$43.75 could give 5 people clean drinking water for the rest of their lives.
What if we all did it?
Drank Water to Give Water?
What if for 5 days we could get 600 of our friends to join in?
That would mean an entire community of 3000 people would have clean drinking water for the rest of their lives.
