Only A Stable; Until…

nativity

More than two thousand years ago, a child was born in a stable in Bethlehem. The world has never been the same since that night.

When we see a nativity scene, it seems so beautiful and serene. Likely, though, that stable was just like all stables. Probably, Joseph got sheep manure on his sandals and the place (and the shepherds) didn’t smell very good. The temperature there during this time of year drops into the forties. It might have been raining or storming. The only thing that made it special was those who were there.

Our offices, organizations, and churches are a big improvement over a stable but it’s still just a place. The only thing that makes them special are those of us who are there. Be a light this New Year.
