Random Thoughts: Importance of Being Right

random
Have you noticed that, for some people, being right is extremely important? Once their opinion is established, they just can’t deal with any possibility that their opinion might be wrong. They won’t even listen to an opposing view.

On the other hand, there are those who will accept any new fad that comes along. They’re really nice people. They just agree with everyone and don’t ever find themselves in a conflict. Their mind isn’t made up; they can’t make up their mind about anything.

What do these two very different kinds of people have in common? In neither case is their much thinking involved. John F. Kennedy once said, “Too often we . . . enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

“Matt, where are you going with this?” Oh, I don’t know. But, it is something to think about.
